God is Able - A sermon by Dr. Fortune Nwaiwu

Sermon: God Is Able

"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." ~ Ephesians 3:20 ~

Introduction:
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today I stand before you to proclaim the glorious truth that God is able. In times of uncertainty, doubt, and fear, we often find ourselves questioning if there is anyone who can truly help us. But let me assure you, with unwavering confidence, that our God is able. He is able to do far beyond what we can imagine or comprehend. Let us turn to the Word of God and discover the biblical references that affirm this truth.

1. God is Able to Save
Our first assurance comes from Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Our God is able to save us from the bondage of sin, to cleanse us from our transgressions, and to offer us eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. No matter how lost or broken we may feel, God's grace is sufficient to redeem us and bring us into His marvelous light.

2. God is Able to Provide
In the book of Philippians, we find this comforting promise in Philippians 4:19, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Our God is able to provide for our every need, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual. Just as He fed the Israelites in the wilderness and multiplied the loaves and fishes, He is faithful to supply all that we require. Trusting in His provision, we can find peace and rest in the knowledge that our Heavenly Father takes care of His children.

3. God is Able to Heal
The Gospels are filled with accounts of Jesus healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, and even raising the dead. Matthew 9:35 proclaims, "Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness." Our God is able to heal physical ailments, but He also brings healing to our souls and spirits. In times of sickness and suffering, let us find solace in the knowledge that our God is the Great Physician who brings restoration and wholeness.

4. God is Able to Deliver
When we are faced with trials, tribulations, or even spiritual warfare, we can find refuge in the assurance that our God is able to deliver us. The psalmist declares in Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." Just as God delivered Daniel from the lion's den and the Israelites from the hands of Pharaoh, He is able to rescue us from any situation. Our God is mighty to save and has the power to break every chain that binds us.

5. God is Able to Guide
Proverbs 3:5-6 implores us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not to lean on our own understanding. "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Our God is able to guide us in every decision, every step we take. When we surrender our lives to Him and seek His wisdom, He promises to lead us in the way we should go. Even in the midst of confusion and uncertainty, we can trust that our God will direct our steps and make our paths clear.

Conclusion:
As we conclude, let us hold fast to the truth that our God is able. He is able to save, provide, heal, deliver, and guide. No situation is too difficult or impossible for Him. Let us anchor our faith in His unfailing power and love. May we rely on Him in every aspect of our lives, knowing that He is faithful to His promises. In times of doubt, let us declare with conviction, "God is able!" Amen.
